Noticed on the way home this afternoon that Echo lake in the north country was skimmed over.  Thats a great sign.  I will check Jericho and Cedar and update this weekend.

Seen a dude powerslide his Harley for 3 gears out of the shop parking lot in the slush yesterday morning.. Looked like his skill set was above the need for rescue though. Damn the seasons, do what makes you smile lol...

I figured I would let the folks who follow this page know an ice fisherman went thru the ice yesterday on Pearl Lake in Lisbon. He and another fisherman traveled up from the southern part of the state to give it a try. Guess he was ok just really cold and wet. The local fire department was called to rescue the guy. Remember to check as you go. Good luck to all this season.

I was that guy on Streeter Pond chasing early ice a few years ago! Now I wait for more certain ice and use the time to prepare the sled.

The temptation is hard to control when first ice arrives. I'd be a liar if I said I didn't do the same. Haha. I think people see others on social media and figure its good to go. I guess if there's a possibility of earning money or gaining a sponsor on some of the media sites then some throw the risk factor out the window. Downside is many seem to follow. Anyhow glad to see you are here to fish another day! Have a great season!
