2011/12 Hard Water Goals

Every year I set out a goal of what I would like to catch. Last year I set out to get a trout through the ice and was successful in catching one. This year 40" or bigger northern is the goal. Anybody else out there set yearly goals? If so, lets hear them.

My goal is to catch a fish to mount, dont really care wat species but preferably a walleye or pike

A 40+ inch pike has been my goal for years. Maybe this will be the year...

I'd like to be able to get out more and hopefully introduce my daughter to ice fishing. She seems pretty excited to go so far. Also, I wouldn't mind another trip to Canada this winter.

Thanks, and I wouldn't doubt it. Took her out fishing this summer and she managed to hook a 20" large mouth with her "Dora" pole. I'm surprised that the reel didn't burn out the way the line was coming out.

My goal is to catch a big laker this winter, maybe a tenative goal of 15lbs  My trip to the apostle islands is still a go so that should give me a good chance of making it happen!

One goal is to snag a trout through the ice bigger than yours from last year !!  Or maybe a nice pike to put on the wall  .........   As long as time is spent on the hard water, that's all that counts !

I would like to spend more time on the ice with my dad. So that is my 1 and only goal for the season.

Good luck Ron. A little tip use a little heavier line than 4lbs. It made me a nervous wreck trying to land my big one. Lol

My one and only goal for this year is to have my wife and daughter go with me and my son more this year. They went one time with us last year and we had a great time together. My wife bought me/us a bigger shack this year so we can have all of us together. It's a 6x8.

My goal is to fish with my dad a lot more this season. He's more into bass fishing but is starting to enjoy being on the ice with me. I'm getting a new flasher for Christmas and HE asked for a shanty. I was pretty surprised. I get the best of both worlds this Christmas  Now I just need some ice  Where is it
