4 Stroke Polar Fire 35 CC Auger Leaking Oil
« on: Jan 26, 2020, 04:10 PM »
Picked up this auger that was included pretty much for free with a tent I bought
After replacing the carb it starts first pull.
But the auger is spitting out oil like crazy.

Any thoughts on what would cause this?
Really have no money tied up into it other then the new carb.

Oil overfilled?they barely take any even being a 4 stroke.ive overfilled my jiffy pro4 lite and it did similar and ended up with oil in the carb from the crankcase breather tube.or a air leak in the crankcase would cause that.that is excessive.mine only takes 3oz of oil

Stuck carb float. The float gums up and sticks, and the fuel runs into the crankcase. Contaminates the oil, and overflows everywhere. I had one so bad it filled up the cylinder, and the engine would not turn over. Had to pull the plug, pump out the gas+oil mix, then it would run like yours. If your oil is overfull, and you know you did not overfill it, it is the gas getting into the oil and you need to fix the sticking (or sinking) carb  float. I have heard there are Chinese carbs you can get for cheap on the web, if you don't want to rebuild it.

Good Luck!

Overfilling was my first thought as well.
It was emptied and refilled with a small amount.
Ran it for a while and the oil never seemed to stop coming out. Was worried about it running dry
