How far between flashers
« on: Feb 05, 2022, 01:52 PM »
If anyone gets withing say 20 feet of my with any other flasher mine goes bonkers.... If they have a marcum i literally have to move because my screen goes haywire.... If its another vex or a lowrance it can use the interference rejection and make it ok but still has lots of blips.... My vex is probably 15 years old it was bought in 2007-08 ish.... Ive heard guys say they use 2 flashers in the same shanty which is not happening with mine and its an fl20 with brand new battery

Transducer should be just below the bottom of the ice ..

Give a man a fish he eats for a day .Teach a man to ice fish he has an obsession for a lifetime

Use an arm to hold the transducer center of hole and deep enough to only remove the air.
Or if someone is say on your left, instead of center of hole have it on left side of hole.
This helps the ice to reject some return signals from unwanted sources.
Also use narrow beam if you have it when your in that situation.

If you hang it below the ice, it can pick up other sonar return signals easier. It's easy to get tangles while landing fish.

I've seen aftermarket arms built. I've seen someone use two box end hand wrenches. Marcum makes one for their sonar.Vex had an eye bolt arm, non pivoting.

I have an fl-22hd that's 9-10 years old and just bought the wife a Fl-12. Last weekend they were used less than 5 feet apart all day with no issues  once the interference button is pushed a few times. I should add we usually keep them set so the transducer is just a few inches under the bottom of the ice.

Doeslayer the fl 20 is 1000 watts peak and the lx7 is 4800 watts. Marcums have way more power than any other flasher. No matter what you have a marcum will make it go silly.
