Nothing wrong with being opportunistic, at least you guys had action. Next time out, could be the time you hammer the eyes. Just keep at it...If you, or your buddy has a topigraphical map of the place, check it out, and look for what places you think will hold those eyes. It's alot more productive to do your homework at home( if you have the time for it
), and then go out with a game-plan on to what general area you want look for them,...than it is to just go out, and drill 10 random holes. Although, a little luck, never hurts either. It seems like you found a couple slammers before,...if you could remember the time of the season it was when you caught them, and in and around where it was, if you were to hit that area around the same time frame, you could in for some walleye surprise.
