Can anyone help me find a place to stay toward the west side of Oneida. I'd like to try fishing it this year and it's far enough away to be worth while staying for a night. It would be real nice if I could find a place that I can leave my truck and get to the lake with the snowmobile. Really just looking for a cheap bed and bathroom. I tried searching the web and didn't find much.

I've only fished the lake once (on open water) in the North Bay / Slyvan Beach area and it seemed like a featureless bowl. I was hoping to find better structure to search out on the east side.

I'm new to ice fishing Oneida for perch and walleye, got all geared up last year, tried chapman park twice last year and nothing, where should I be trying for my best chances at getting some of those walleyes I saw in the above posts, I want to be out there Saturday... any help would be great

fished short point this morning. 1 gill. went to big bay against my better judgement. 2 of us ended up with our limits in gills, and I got 1 13" crappie.

there was about 10" of snow on big bay. it was a tough drag.

it's time to get the snowmobile out. drilled 8 to 9" of black ice every where i was today.   Sully...

I'd start just to the west of sylvan at Lewis point there's some structure there... ::) ::)

I'm late to the punch but awesome 26" HOG Kara!  Black Lake is so bad I take a weeks vacation to fish it every year...

well then fish oneida instead. your chances for a walleye out of black lake are slim to none for rookies anyway..... just saying

Hey guys. Iv been ice fishing my entire life and have yet to fish Oneida but im thinking about changing that on sunday. The only problem I have is im not familiar with the area at all and don't know about where to park and/or access the lake. I don't want anyones secrets just some access in a decent area. If someone could hook me up with that info that would be awesome. If you want to give me some tips to aid in my success that would be extra awesome but just where to park and get on would suffice. PMs are welcome and all info is appreciated thanks id advance.

If you have a sled go to Sylvan Beach, the parking lot is huge, then go to the crowd and adjust from there.

Drag was brutal on the way in from constantia. I found about 7" of solid black ice in every hole. A few wheelers and sleds were out. Fish were tight lipped. Uncle limited on eyes, I lost 2 and got 1. Also got about 10 jumbos. Marked a ton of fish but hey were glued to the bottom. Fished 26 FOW one mile out from the parking access.
It'll eat.

I also think black lake sucks, lol I been going 16 years straight and I will take a crappie bononza over almost anything, I mean besides landing 20-30 eyes. I love the lake and it holds many secrets. Maybe I will see you out at Lewis this weekend chief. Got my brother and cousin all set to break the ice fishing seal this year on sun. Headed to Lewis, didn't do so well there last year but my jigging arm is still strong, tight lines guys
