Where are the bull gill pics this winter? Here in NE MA ice is too sketchy to brave. Hope my season's not over before it started >:(

I know ice fishing has been very very limited if at at all here in Indiana. I think alot of areas are in the same weather funk as Indiana, just not a good year.

Here in Southeast PA we have had no ice, and probably won't get any this late. Only got out twice, a hundred or so mi. North, and both times on lakes that are dominated by crappie. Hoping that a certain bull factory will tighten up within the next week.

Great bulls there Ryno--I love the shape of the gill w/ bait keeper; Frisbee!
the lake that gill is in just produces "Frisbee's". Once they hit about 8" they just get that shape to em....the over 10's are beautiful. Still trying to find that 11"+ to put on the wall.

Those are some beauties, ryno; we don't seem to get the Frisbee confirmation where I go. ??? Might have to do with the forage base or the overpopulation of small perch.

No Bulls this year. Reason? NO ICE. DAYS FISHING 0. Nice 9 inch plus fish Ryno but no 10's but very nice healthy fish ! With no ice pressure my go to lake should have all 10's next winter lol. But it will be the same a lot 8 1/2 - 9 1/2 and a handful of 10's It takes a lot to get 10 inch plus fish here in Pa. I've been ice 50 years and still looking for an 11 inch fish. I'm beginning to think they don't make 'em that big.lol

Couple of 2 lb gills that are at a local bait shop.

I hit the one pound club last year in the summer went back to the same lake when there was hard water but couldent find them. I hope the guys that sell them dident find out about this lake. Way to many people sell gills that 6 inch in vermont so they never have a chance to get big do any other states sell and buy gills just wondering.

Personally I couldn't harvest a 11" gill-- such a rare fish! Kinda like grilling a sasquatch steak ;)

I've got some nice ones this winter. Here is one from the other day. The scale says 15 3/4 ounces but its tail was touching... I figured it was a good pound.

The big ones have been harder to find this winter. They are getting more pressure than normal but are around. I'm still hunting for one worthy of mounting...

bros and I caught at least 5 10 inch gills last year hope to get an even bigger 1 this year. buddies dad took an 11.5 incher out of our home lake 3 years ago, widh i had a pic of that
