Chadwicks in Haverhill
« on: Jan 05, 2006, 11:17 AM »
Has anyone fished this pond in the past or this year, i was looking to give it a try.  Any info on where to fish or anything at all would be great.  Does anyone know if it even has safe ice yet?  Also is it stocked with trout?

I usually fish Chadwicks on the annual tournament which is on January 22 this year.  Mostly pickeral and some good size bass now and then.  The Bass in my profile picture is from Chadwicks.  Probably a good 6 inches of ice right now as the other Haverhill ponds I fish (Saltonstall and Round) have similar ice.   Anywhere on the Gun club side of the lake will yield some nice Bass but there is a high level of Mercury in the water so you can't eat any of the fish. I only catch and release so it doesn't matter to me.  For info on the tournament go to hhrg.com

I also try to fish that tournament. The last time I fished it  a couple of years ago it was raining. Good thing I had my portable shanty. I usually fish the side by the gun club, but have seen most of the big bass come from the other side of the pond. I get to meet up with all the guys I used to deer hunt and work with at the tourny. A good time!
