Idyho made it easy, "Lines" . And we can have 5, and, a treble is "A" hook, so, five hooks per line, hm... that'd be 25.
If you have some spare wood laying around you can buy the parts or buy one complete. http://www.slammertipup.com/index.html
Ive got a custom slapper tipup a guy made me out of birch wood that is pretty nice and never used it. He built them and sold a lot of them in Michigan for guys who target steelhead through the ice. I'd love to try mine out but heard the guys who fish for steelies through the ice don't take well to "outsiders" or "newbies".
Now would they be considered tip-ups? Or when I use them are they considered hand lines?
Would be a tip up here in NY, read what the dec defines as a tip up and you will see. They are supposed to be changing the regs to 7 fishing devices next year, so that will do away with the questions as to what is what.
Well that escalated quickly
