SUPER BOWL DIP_ FAST AND EASY
« on: Feb 04, 2024, 03:38 PM »
Three ingredient chip dip we have been enjoying for years.

Here is what you will need:

1 to 1.5 pounds of ground beef. (ground venison works great as well)
(2) packages of taco seasoning.
(2) 15oz. jars of your favorite cheese dip.

brown meat till done. You can drain the grease if you want, I leave it in.
Add taco seasoning and 3/4 cup of water. (I guess water would be considered a 4th ingredient) :)

Mix well and bring to a simmer.

simmer for about 5 minutes until most of the liquid is gone.
remove from heat.

Add the cheese dip.

Return to heat and mix well.
Then remove from heat.

Serve warm with your favorite chips.
Enjoy!

Makes 5 to 6 cups.

Stores well in the refrigerator, re-heat in microwave before serving.

Good Luck All

Joe, thanks for the post.

Down here @ La Casa del Whacko in Beautiful Downtown Spring, TX, just across the sewage canal from the creosote plant, we call that mixture Chili con Queso.

To make it TexMex style I use Velveeta  "cheese", because it melts great and I prefer the taste over the jarred queso.  A can of tomatoes w/ green chilis, (Rotel is a national brand),will add some flavor and some liquid to "loosen" the mixture.  Can't go wrong w/ taco seasoning.  Add it to your taste.  I use the no-salt variety.  Good quality chorizo is the meat of choice, but if you go that way be VERY careful what's in that sausage you buy. (See my recipe for "Muy Bueno Chorizo" posted on this board somewhere.)  Throw in a handful of pickled jalapenos if ya want it zippy.

If you  find yourself in Beautiful Downtown Spring, TX, just across the sewage canal from the creosote plant, there'll be TexMex Chili Con Queso at every party or gathering.  But git thar early.  It goes quicker than Cuzzin Cletus goes through a nickel bag...

Joe, I don't know if you'll find Rotel tomatoes up there.  If not, just get a small can of diced 'maders and a can of diced green chili's from the Mexican section of your grocery, if they have one.  Otherwise, "More Taco Seasoning"...

Enjoy it!  You gotta treat yourself well these days...  nobody else is gonna...
