What's the matter, you couldn't sleep. Normally I'm up that early but my girlfriend has the week off so we're up later than usual, so I slept in til 5am. I check in every day but there's not a lot going on here. I'm always interested in ice fishing & what's going on, ice fishing is my passion, I wish I could do it all yr. long. My brother, who lives in Fl. thinks I'm nuts. He said to me just yesterday that he doesn't know how I'm so passionate about ice fishing & he has no interest, I told him just because we were brought the same doesn't mean that we should have the same interest. As a kid all I wanted to do, is have a line in the water, he didn't. We did not live in an area that had a lot of ice, small ponds would freeze so we would ice skate on them, no one was ice fishing on any of them, if they were I would have been there in a heart beat seeing what they were doing. I'm sure I would want to have tried it then, not starting @ age 30 something.

Ain't happening RG, I did stop with the sauces and I'm doing a lot more Smoking instead of grillin ! The Nutritionalist recommended trying Tofu and Hummis, That Definately Ain't Happenin ! Ain't Hummis the stuff on the forest floor that leaves and trees turn into when they rot away ?

It's getting really quiet here, I know it's spring, maybe not in western N.Y. today, but you can never forget about the ice. I sure haven't, I think about everyday.

10 pounds of walleye fillets ready for the deep fryer.. 13 eyes between 22"-30".. 3 guys, 3 hours work. 9 of em came home.!All caught on THE river.. As always

For me, this summer will be a little better for scouting winter spots.

I bought a 10' rowboat (glorified widened canoe, for sure) and had it out on a pond Sunday. And it floats! It was almost like being on the ice; there were canoes and little boats about, but it was so quiet and peaceful. The difference was when I saw a trout rise right next to me....that was a cool new thing to see.

So as I drifted over to this cove, I could hear running water (yay! a brook!)....then I looked down and saw the sandy bottom!
Now all I have to do is get that fishfinder rigged on and mark some depths! (Thanks again Surf!)

That pond will NOT skunk me again next winter....I'm gonna get it all figured out!

I just purchased a new car that is easy on gas, now I'm looking at Kayaks to top it off. It should be a great scouting rig for the up coming winter, as well open-water small water setup.

i heard there is safe ice in the Adirondacks...anyways it is quiet around here never really come on much once ice fishing ends cause im too busy open water fishing and since there is more daylight during spring and summer that's less time im inside on the computer hahaha

We found great ice in the Adirondacks last week/weekend... We chopped it off the ledge behind the camp to keep our beer/food cold....
