What in the world? Why would that be better than studded tires?

For $3K??? I could do way better than that with that budget.
To fish or not to fish? That's a stupid question!

Last yr, I saw a guy on the ice w/ a fat bike + studded tires.  He was covering alot of ground on that thing - seemed very stable w/ the fat tires + studs.

I bet you could hook up some kind of hitch for a sled, maybe a sled cover to keep the snow off + go for a few miles on good ice....or trails.

This has to be a prank

The fishes finally learn the internet from all the smart phones dropped down holes?

I would not advise it in no snow conditions. Stability is not a problem (assuming not too top heavy), however, without enough traction you won't be able to keep straight. Get studded tires if available.
