I was thinking of using some thick plastic, some small screws and nuts, then coating with flex seal.
If the engineers at the sled manufactures would have done sufficient testing of their products, the wear through problem on the bottom of the sled tubs would have showed up. They could of changed the roto-mold that forms the tubs so the raised runner areas on the bottom had a thicker section of plastic. Common engineering sense.
Good engineering actually. Planned obsolescence to a T!
I've had a jet sled for 6 years and have taken it out every weekend. No hyfax runners on it, nothing but the bottom of the sled. The sled bottom has very little wear, absolutely zero holes or cracks. I run it over ice, but mainly snow.It makes me wonder what you guys are running your sleds over where you're getting holes or have a need for runners.? Asphalt, rocks?
