All done here in Mi SW.. Lake blew out with the wind last night. Watching white caps. Looks good again. Just finished packing all my ice stuff away. Kept 2 poles ready for some early boat fishing on a calm evening. Where did I put my golf clubs...

I'm not un-loading my truck yet.  We'll wait and see what the next few weeks brings.

Funny. Our metro lakes went from 99% open to fully capped in a week. Guys are fishing lake areas where no one has ice fished in 2 years!  SMH-

A pleasant surprise! ;D

Still fishing here, but above freezing temps and strong winds for the next 7-10 days will take a toll on what ice we have.  Snow has been gone for over a week already....

Same here,,,,unless i head nort, im done as well.  Kinda sad putting the wrap up on everything.....but i got out more this year than the past two years combined....caught some great fish, made some new acquaintances, so all in all a good year.  Will probably build a couple more rods in the off season....only cause i need more rods.....   ???

Perchnut, I am happy you got to play on the ice. Virginia is pretty far south to ice fish

I feel for you guys. Dam if our season was as short as some of you have I highly doubt I would spend as much money as I do on ice fishing gear. We have at least another month yet, we started ice fishing about a week after Thanksgiving. I just bought and put on a new 12” extension on my K-drill so the nose of my drill doesn’t get wet when I finally break through the ice.

On a normal year the end of our ice fishing season you can usually do either or. Still find safe ice, or find open water to launch a boat, panfish season is open year round.

We'll be having ice for at least another month, but probably way into April too.

Usually you don’t want a lot of snow on the ice for making ice. But now we have plenty of ice, so now all the snow on top is going to protect it from the sun and insulate it. Last time we had a situation like this the big lakes were still locked up with ice the first week of May.

Another 2 or 3 weeks here, another cold snap would help.
