ice fishing reminiscing haha

well hope everyone enjoyed the few days ice fishing we had this season!  man it sucks!  not sure if i'm glad we got out for a bit or if it was just a tease.  well we headed out back when we had first ice and thoroughly safety checked a section and found some of the strongest 2-2.5" of ice i've ever seen.  It was stronger than the 3.5-4" of ice we had last year, no joke.  We ended up having a nice little day jigging some nice perch and nabbing pickerel on tip ups.  we even had a green piglet join the party!  It was a beautiful start to the season...just hoping it isn't the end too!  forecast not looking great

Couple nice perchies in there. At least you got out. I had to resort to punching a hole in the too thin ice, next to our dock step, to test run my 10-year old’s new flasher.

You did better than me so far. I’ve been out 6 times this season and all I have to show for it is 2 fish, a 34” pike and a 15” pickerel.

Of course, that will hang over me for awhile now.

I was just demonstrating how to get my big ass out of the water in under a minute, without loosing a single bottle of beer that was in my hand. 

All being said, two more weeks boys and we should be back in a game. Meanwhile I will just chase chrome around upstate.

I don’t know where you fish, but that looks like a really nice haul to me! 

Easy. Hopatcong state park. Took half a day to find dem but once they were dialed in we were chasing flags all over.

I was all set to go upstate yesterday for steelhead, and then came the heavy rain and washed it out. Can’t win this winter.
