Deep Creek Pointers
« on: Dec 17, 2012, 01:53 PM »
Stayin at Deep Creek around the dam area off Skippers Point Rd. in mid January.  Hopin for some ice.  Is there any good fishin near the dam/Skippers Point Road area (we have a lake access path where we are stayin.  Or is it better to seek out some of the other areas of the lake.  Just lookin for some pointers, not exact locations and if it is worth our while to just walk out front and fish.  Thanks in advance.  Hopin for some ice!!!

I've never fished that part of the lake so I can't help you with that part.  I will say however that the tough part about looking for other spots to fish is lake access/parking.  The only public area is the state park area.  Outside of that, you typically need permission from a local homeowner to park and walk through their yard.  Not a whole lot of other alternatives.

it's a shame how hard it is to get a place to have access to the lake. Its a public impoundment but surrounded by private land .

There are some great spots in that area.   Might be able to help.   Parking Access for Pointers.  Sound like a good deal??
