This is one I created after seeing something similar on TV. It can be made with any fish such as Perch, Gills, Pike, 'Eye, and at times I use Mahi. White fleshed meats work the best. Cooking it can be done anyway you wish. Ive broiled, blackened, and fried with diffrent coating from batter to cornflake crumbs.
Start with a sub roll of your choice or use a big French bread. Split and toast it under broiler to your liking. Again cook fish the way you wish. No arguments here.
Get a bag of pre cut French fries.
Make Coleslaw what I use is a North Carolina- Style Slaw which is;
2 Cups Apple CIder Vinigar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup ketchup
1/4 cup light brown sugar or more to taste
5 tsp salt or to taste
3 tsp crushed red pepper flakes or less if not into heat. (3 adds a good kick)
1 tsp blk pepper
1 tsp white pepper
1 large head cabbage shredded
1/2 onion chopped
Combine Vinigar, water, Ketchup, brwn sugar, salt, pepper and pepper flakes in non reactive pan (non aluminum) over medium heat stiring till sugar and ketchup all incorperate. Reduce heat to medium to low and cook about 10 min do not boil. Place slaw in bowl and pour mixture over slaw and mix thoughly then chill in fridge. Slaw will come out crunch like cold slaw does.
Now make the fish and toast rolls cook the french fries and then place the fish, french fries and chilled slaw on the roll.
There ya go enjoy. Bring the Napkins you will need them. It is one of my favorites.
