Any word on ice thickness at Lake John?  I know it was late to freeze over.
THANKS!

This was the report released last week from the Lake John resort:

12.18.21 from: LakeJohnResort

https://lakejohnresort.com/ice-fishing

Ice has recently reformed on the majority of lake John. The new ice formed is approximately an inch and a 1/2 thick that extends north from Max's Point.

Ice south of Max's Point ranges from 3" to 8", thicker the further south you go.

Fishing has been steady.

Tungsten jigs, rat finke, mealies and waxies.

Hope this helps!
   Go get 'em!

I fished it last week Tuesday. Totally capped but the north part of the lake looked a bit sketch at that time.  Wind had busted it up and then it refroze.  Guys had walked out a few steps to pop test holes but it didn't look like they had fished it.  Southwest Boat Ramp area had 7-8 inches of solid (but bare ice.  Fishing was good not great.  Fished 5 hours and landed 5.  16-19"
