Its time to just sit down, and watch the Nascar Bud Shootout on Fox!  Ha, ha.  You got a 10lb Pike, well, not sure if you are in the Island Tournament, but that is a good fish.

Well, you still have tomorrow.  I remember, I came up from the NEK to fish, during the Champlain, Island Ice Fishing Tournament, to fish with a friend, from Morrisville, Vt, for this Ice Fishing Tournament.  He told me, that he caught a 17lb Northern Pike, in that Tournament, and by gosh, he has it mounted on his wall.  Good luck, and if you got the Legs, etc, for this kind of Weather, well, good for you.  Hope to see some reports, of the Fish, that made the Weigh in, after the Tournament ends. ;D

I think it has been a tough year for a lot of people. On the positive side it seems nice to see so much traffic on this site. I've taken a job back in Maine and trying to sell the house in this market has been brutal. I haven't fished in Vermont (it seems everytime I'm home I've been clearing snow) at all and only a few times in Maine. Fished a trout in Maine today and no fish. If the wife doesn't make it back next week I might get out. Keep the posts coming.

On Lakeshore drive in West Swanton you can pay the guy 5 bucks to drive out and there are quite a few plowed roads (Just do us all a favor and don't drill to close/in the roads). It pays for the guy's gas and he doesn't rip people off. We were on a slow bite today but its a good spot to fish, I've heard reports of everything from small lakers and some good smelt nights to 10+lb pike and buckets full of perch on different days. You'll know the spot when you see it
The charm of fishing is that it is the pursuit of what is elusive but attainable,
a perpetual series of occasions for hope.
