Thanks,

These have a permanent place in my arsenal!  There great for that last minute ice fishing outing. I use red, chartreuse, and natural for pan fishing.

Havn't tried the waxies, but swear by the "pink" maggots. work better than the real thing and last a lot longer when tipping lures.

Just ordered the Waxies in natural color.  Have not used before but have used the magots in white/natural for open water panfish and they work great.  Super when I take my son.  Don't have to plan a trip to the bait store or keep live stuff around.  You get quite a few in a jar and I think they are tougher than the real thing so last longer (not sure about this as have never used real).

I use the chartruese maggots in a pinch lke if I forgot to
bring enough live waxworms in my chew can. They still
catch fish but I dont think as good as real bait.
Just my 2 pennies worth.

They work, but I'd never take them over the real thing if I had the choice. I usually put on the fake waxie in natural, and 1 real waxxie on the same hook. If the real one gets ripped off, im not fishing baitless and I still have a shot at catching a fish.  I had the jar spill in my tacklebox last season and didn't know it till I pulled the box out this year.....wow it stank reel good! I put the tacklebox in the dishwasher tho and it cleaned it out

Are the PowerBait or Gulp products available at Walmart/Dicks?  Or do you buy them online?

I bought mine from Bass Pro online but I am sure Walmart and Dicks have them as well.  Also, keep in mind if you have a local bait and tackle store in town, please try to support them 1st.

i use the natural color to supplement my LIVE waxies. when fish are active, they constantly rip the real bait off...and if they do and you're not aware...at least you'll have a backup bait on your hook instead of nothing. They seem to work better in springtime open water fishing than ice for me as well.

Bought a jar of Gulp waxies on Friday, tried them this weeknd, perch seemed to like them but not as much as fish eyes or even chunks of fresh fish, best artificial iv used , and can't seem to find them anymore, were the maggots made by YUM i think  ??? or maybe they were under Gulp, but they were white and pasty and soft not plastic like like the new ones, i had them one year and they actually did outfish real meal worms and trout worms
Theres only 3 seasons..open water, hunting and icefishing!

They will work and they do have space in my tackle kit, prefer to use real maggot and wax's but when not available I will pull them out and fish away.

I have them in my arsenal too. I've been using them this summer with great success with crappies and bluegills, gill pill tipped with chartruse waxie. Last alot longer than live bait...thats what I like. Smitty
