Modded Bait Boat
« on: Nov 06, 2010, 10:42 AM »
I like to catch many of my "big baits" from my boat - following schools around and just having a relaxing time.

This fall I decided to make the boat a little more comfortable and install some tunes! So for $35 and a few days of work I put in a little head unit with a tape deck and an auxilary input for an ipod. The physical AM/FM radio gets better reception than my car does believe it or not! The power/ground run through the framing of the boat all the way to the back and hook right up to my deep cycle that powers the trolling motor.

Also, since this is inherited from my father - the boat is about 20 years old. So while I was at it, I took the time to replace every screw in the boat with a self tapping metal screw. Most of the bolts were rusted out pretty well so many of those got replaced too.

Now I have tunes and the Crawdad is rock solid again! Next year I was thinking about putting in an aerated bait keeper so I don't have to have a bucket/cooler at my feet.

What do you guys think? Maybe a winter project for some?
