Bartons Cove Gathering 2010

I usually call this for the first weekend in Feb. but
that is suppose to be the date for the Berkshire outing
so I am going to call it for Sat. Jan 30th.


What:    A gathering of the IceShanty tribe for bass, brats and beer.

When:   Jan. 30  Sun up to whenever.  Foul weather date Jan. 31.

Where:  Bartons cove on the the Conn. River just off of Rt 2 Gill, Ma. at the Power company campground.


I will bring a large propane grill out for communal use.  There is a large parking area that can accommodate 50 + vehicles.  It is an easy commute from anywhere as it is directly off of Rt. 2 in Gill MA just above the Turners Falls dam. For mapquest etc. use Main Rd Gill.  You can expect to catch everything from Perch to Pike and all things in between.  Years past have been a great time and this year should be bigger and better.

Respond to this thread and I will amend and keep a running tally.  Hope many of you can make it.

Count me in!  Any ice fishing road trip beats a work trip.

After last year's performance of catching the only pike, I have a record to defend!     ;D

Ive wanted to go to Bartons the last few years but never make it up there for some reason. I think the 30th is the same date as the brookfield lions at quabog.    Hmmmmmm.... what to do?????

This was a good time last year.  We had some good laughs, that is for sure.

I am going to try to make it.  I have a small grill I can bring too and put me down for some BBQ chicken.

I haven't been to this gathering, but as of the looks of it and reading the posts, looks like a good time. I' ll see if my buddy (ICERUNNER) is interested and head up there after work in the AM. Keep me posted on things. We 'll bring some food and beer if we can make it.
