No sense reinventing the wheel ..Jet Sleds really pull easy and come in various sizes ..last season I upgraded to the Jet Sled XL from the JS1..added the wear bar kit ...I was amazed how easy it was to pull ..stored all my gear ..948i hub..Buddy Heater ., SI Transporter bag..directors chair..Veilar 7 gallon bucket . My buddy tried to build a metal SS sled ..too heavy . I have an OTTER sled same size as the JS XL ...but that does not pull by hand good on any ice condition ..motoized vehicle only. In really deep snow I use a Smitty Sled .

Yep, they work great. This is how I set mine up. It's based on a jet sled Jr.

Thank you that is what I was looking for high up on skis
Without the weight of wood
Incorporating the jet sled is awesome didn’t cross my mind
Take it off if not a lot of snow or mount it if there is
Thanks again

Here is a good thread ..some pictures may be missing from the PhotoBucket debacle

https://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=103927.0

couple high notes ..14-16 foot rope tied to the tips of the skis ..knot on top so as to lift the skis ...cargo weight to the rear . 2"x6" or 2"x8" should work just fine for the upright ..I used 2"x3" for cross braces ..add eyebolts to attach the Cambuckle straps.

I am trying to make my XL jet sled into a smitty sled with these coffee table hinges and skis. When the snow is high, lift the sled up, when no snow leave down and drag out on ice.

need to use the ones with springs...the gas struts may freeze in the winter.

Heres what I came up with, pretty simple, goes together and comes apart for storage in a couple minutes
