im fairly certain the stocking trucks will start making their rounds next week. the masswildlife trout stocking page just cleared the stocking list to make way for the spring stocking. next week the southeast district should start and i would imagine the central district would start the week after.

Excellent. I need my favorite pike spot to receive it's annual pre spawn dinner.

Yup they want get rid of them so they don't to have to feed them :-\.

the fish have been decent size the last couple of years. my smallest trout last year was 14.5in and the biggest was 25in and i caught hundreds of fish. most of the fish were 16in or better.

-
Same for us on the size. Pretty much nothing under 14”
If the cape is fishing this well now, I can’t imagine what it wi be like after the dumps
-
any flies hatching and trout rising down there? may take a trip on saturday and might bust out the fly rod.

It’s almost always the first full week in March unless delayed by ice
-
There is always a fly hatch, Especially in early spring when the air temps get to 50s. I saw numerous black caddis I think swarming this past week... early but there are many other hatches that happen right at ice out. I like nymphs and scuds this early anyway. Scuds are the sure fire bet for brookies.... Its my go to early ...
-
was going to throw some nymphs and possibly dries if they are rising good
-
I can add that I picked a few dozen night crawlers in my back yard last night for a trip up north. Might be the earliest I have ever seen them out.
-
I called yesterday and they only told me it would happen soon. There's a new live update link.
