homemade tipup alarm

I need help... I remember someone telling me that they made an alarm out of an old smoke detector, but I cant get her figured out -- HELP

I don't recall the smoke detector alarm but I liked this one :  Window Alarm

I use the same alarm, bit different setup. For an outlay of a $1. they work great.
