Should I Go?
« on: Jan 10, 2009, 09:57 AM »
Well its 20 deg out, N winds at 20, wind chill at 3, and snowing a little. Now, I'm itching to get some gills and my buddy just called and wants to go. He cant go tomorrow when its going to be 30 deg, so today's his only chance.

What do you think?
Should I stay or should I go now?
If I go there MIGHT be trouble.
And if I stay there will be BORDOME.
So come on and let me know.
SHOULD I STAY OR SHOULD I GO?

Oh and I should add that I'm going shantyless because of the wind. But I could light a fire on the ice....

look for somewhere to get out of the wind.  That is what I did last nite when when I went out.  Did not have much luck but did catch a few fish.

There isnt a place to get out of the wind  :-\

We would just have to put our backs to the wind.

I really dont like fishing when your hole freezes over in 30 seconds. Makes for a hard time jiggin.

Go! The worst that could happen is you'll regret it and leave after a couple hours.

Sounds like you'd better pack your Les Paul and Marshall stack when you go!

Wait a minute you got a shanty you won't take out in a light breeze?  I take mine if gusts are less than 50 mph.

20º isn't cold at all and wind chill only affects exposed skin, it won't make the hole freeze any faster then 20º and no wind.. Put clothes on and go fish.

Decided not to go. I have to shovel walks and clean off 4 cars this afternoon. I just got the shanty out for the first time in 2 years. It looked like swiss cheese. There was 2 mice nests and the whole thing was chewed up.

After an hour of work and 2 rolls of duct tape, shes ready to go.

Il be out on the ice tomarrow morning at 6:00.  8)

The wind will wick the heat away faster, but won't make it any colder than the air temperture.

Yeah, it's great when that happens. Keeps you motivated to go out in any type of weather.
