2011 Yahama Bravo
« on: Jan 22, 2011, 04:55 PM »
Anyone with experience with this sled?
Saw one at the dealer last weekend.
Just wondering how the ride was.
Suspension (is there one?) seemed kind of  hard.
I hear good things about these sleds.
Looking for some input.
Thanks,
MD

Old feller stopped by my shack last week with a brand new one. Glad to see they brought this back. He loved it. Kinda expensive for what it is though, $4,000. He said the dealer told him Yamaha was only bringing it back for 2011?

4K is low for a new sled, but I was wondering how the ride was.
I have searched for more info but only coming up with pictures and parts sources....

If you're concerned about the ride I don't think this would be a sled for you. More of a 'point-a-to-point-b' sled with reliablity and good gas mileage. Not gonna torture you though, as long as you ain't going full throttle all the time.

I hadn't heard that they were back for 2011- ill have to check them out.  Great ice fishing sled... But for 4,000 i would have to think about tracks on my ATV instead... Maybe

That is great! I had no idea they were bringing it back. I have 1989 bravo and absolutley love it. Picked the trac a few years back and now it's almost unstoppable. Not a trail sled by any means but ideal for ice fishing. Sure wish I had 4k kicking around ???

I wish ski doo would do something like this with the old tundras.

I have 3 Tundras. Just picked up a 2010 550F Tundra. They are under 6K and 8 times better than the Bravo. This is an updated machine with great suspension and very good power. My 300F pulls a load well, haven't tried this machine by towing freight, but you can easily bring the skiis up.

I ended up getting a 2011 tundra with the 550F. I have a hundred miles or so on it now and love it.

I also have heard that the bravo is going away, something about emissions.
I don't think 4k is too much either for this sled, if you kept it in new condition it would be worth more then you paid for it in a few years. My buddy says that the Skidoo Elan is still the sled to have up on the reserves.

Its a classic

An 87 Bravo in Alaska has somewhere around 200K miles on it. They use them hard in the villages. I have a guy wanting to give me an old short track...... I better call him tomorrow.

Just change the S/N plate and you could resell it as a 2010 ;)

That is one sled where you can't say "they just don't make them like they use to"
