should work for me but im almost positive that ill be on the lake that week searching fish but from the boat. these rains and warm weather will have the ice all gone by then.

I hear ya, very sad

lets just hope the cold comes back in. The last 2 weeks of January are supposed to be colder than the 1st two and then hopefully most of Feb will be colder also

Went down last night and the ice in one of the harbors I fish was rotted out and the main body is too.... and it doesn't look like we're going to have any really cold weather. Do we have an alternative lake in place incase we can't get out on Utah lake?

Its just one sad story after another, this weather this year has been the worst I can remember for hitting the hard deck. Well you know pineview has been doing ok and just happens to be my favorite spot for the GTG. Lets just see what the next 2-3 weeks bring and if utah lake is not working then hopefull the view will $:-\$

Strawberry is one of the few bodies of water with safe ice still. Sounds good to me.

I'm good with that; it will be my last trip on the ice for this season. I'll be going to Arizona on the 23 and will go in for a left knee replacement upon my return. How about some particulars; where to meet/stage, what time, where to fish, what to bring, etc.

I guess we could just meet up at the marina and head out from there, I usually fish the chicken creek/ladder areas so my knowledge around the marina is little. Any one got any ideas? or suggestions?

I would like to join ya. At the Berry. I will keep ya up dated on ice conditions from here to then. A good spot out of the Marina would be out and to the left and then go north. On wheelers of course. We can go to where the old Clark's camp use to be. Or better known as around by badger bay. I will report in Ice conditions on this post.

Hopefully we can find a spot that is accessible by foot since everyone may not have wheelers etc..

I would be willing to provide taxi service with my snowmobile to anyone needing it. Possibly others would be willing to do the same. Setting an arrival time window would eliminate missed opportunities for a ride out. And possibly an FSR radio channel could be designated for use by those arriving late.

I will shuttle also, if the ice conditions are good enough for my wheeler I'll have both my chariots. Either way the sled will work. Radios would be a good idea also for those that cant make the meeting time

Went today,. went out of the marina at 7:30 am went around the left corner to the old clarks camp. Fished in 15-17 feet of water. caught 6 a piece for 3 of us. Throw back cut throats and 1 each rainbows. Rainbows were nice 18 inches. It slowed down so we moved out to 28 feet and picked up a few more. Before we left at 1:30 T shirt weather. Ice is a good 10 inch thick easy walking or riding

I will also be available to supply some taxi service for the get together. I would propose that we meet at the Marina because of the many different directions to go and ease of parking . I did a drive by today and there looked to be some open water just north of the ladders. About a 10 ft jump to the ice from shore. Spoke with a few anglers there and they said that the fishing was pretty spotty and the ice was 8 to 10 inches. Also spoke with the folks in the Marina they said that it is freezing every night and should hold. Some anglers were coming in with some nice Bows and saw one nice Cut at 23 inches. Also saw a wheeler pulling grandpa in a wheelchair LOL. Any way to get grandpa out fishing. Was driving the fish cop crazy because no laws were being broken.

I will bring a machine also, sounds like plenty of machines to transport all attendees. The marina would be a great place to meet, badger bay, haws point, or off the point by mosquito bay . Many good options only a few minutes away on machines. Lets hope night time lows keep the edges solid for the next few weeks.

Lets just plan on the marina then (store, rest rooms & plenty of parking), what times everyone thinking? I myself am an early riser and like to get every moment of light in I can, but am good with anytime

I'm an early guy myself and breakfast is a must for me. When doing Strawberry, I usually like to have breakfast at The Hub in Heber City - they open at 6. And it takes about 1 hour to get there from the mouth of Weber Canyon in Ogden via I-84/I-80/US40. I usually role into the parking lot at Strawberry about 7:30 after the stop at The Hub. My druthers would be to meet at the marina parking lot between 7:30 & 8:00 and head out on the ice at 8:00.

Breakfast at the Hub works for me Bob, Beez was great last year

what time should we meet there? If there's enough of interest in the Hub for breakfast I'll give them a call and see if we can get some tables put together for a larger group or atleast just a heads up we'll have a large group coming in. 730-8am for a meet time at the marina parking lot sounds good to me

The Hub opens at 6:00 AM so that's when I try to get there.
