bear lake bob has moved south     and it is hard to fish bear when chat is so close   I have heard a few people say the last 3-4 years it appears the place is fished out I have time coming up I may go over the hill and give her a go.

Has anyone been by Bear and know if there is any ice yet? I know that they have been getting pounded with snow. Any reports would be appreciated.

 >:(

Sorry>>>>>>> I can no longer provide Bear Lake Reports anymore! I sold my Bear Lake home, moved to South Carolina in Ferbruary 2008 ! It took only 4 1/2 months to find a home that I liked. I was back at Bear Lake during the Deer Season this year, and saw the lake frozen, thawed, re-frozen several times, while duck hunting. Knowing the history of the lake, and with this new cold snap they are getting, I am confident it will take no longer than 2 more weeks  for safe ice! The owner of the Bear Lake Marina suffered a stroke, and probably won't be opening the restaurant for sometime to come.
I miss all you guys who fish at Bear Lake, and have all my icing stuff back home in the Bear Lake area, and am sure to get ice fishing the lake again, while  on vacations.

ill have a report before the weekend  bringing the gear pretty confident its good but I only live 10 minutes away not a big deal if Im wrong 10 wasted minutes no biggie but I will check it cassadaga opened for the most part and is frozen over again knowing bear is smaller and less succeptible to the heavy winds that ruined ice in the area I feel confident the ice will be all good fishing on the other hand it will be tough   I am going to fish an area I have never seen anyone ice fishing but we did well in boat will let you know should be wed. that i get there hoping mayville will be safe come thurs. and then i t will be tough to fish bear unless this area is productive. sorry i ramble on I am pumped to have prior obligations wrapping up at about the same time the ice is getting good. anyways I will at least check tommorow or wed .
