Yes but the flightings more than 6" so it wont fit through the hole a 6" head cuts.

Just out of curiosity, have any of you ran a 8" blade on a 6" auger?   I'm assuming it wouldn't clean out very well, but I'm interested if it did "okay".  I got a 6" for Christmas and LOVE it, but that hole looks awfully small when I'm pike fishing, esp considering the number of 20lb+ pigs that have came through the ice in my local area this winter.

If you in 8" of ice or less it might work OK .  Drill deeper and the will hole will fill with chips, become packed and the blade will bind.

Thanks for the info. I just got a 6 inch 2 weeks ago from Small Engine out of Mass. It cut so EASY I called them and asked if a 8 would fit? They was not positive but thought it would. I am thinking about buying a 8 inch head for a back-up just in case I should mess mine up and have to ship it to get sharpened. Just might try it.
