Has anyone been out to twin beaches? How’s the pickerel fishing? And are trucks able to get on the ice?
Thanks in advance

Driving on is not a problem . Guys are catching a few . Lots of commercial nets .

Any perch being caught Mcdee?

Just a couple. How about you ?

Haven't fished perch at Twin for at least 5 years. Fishery just dropped off for some unforeseen reason. Used to catch 100 in a morning easy, lots of dinkers

Took the kids out for a little fishing (one little perch) and sled ride. I counted at least 40 sets of nets out in a relatively small area. Every second or third set had a gut pile with sacks of eggs galore and many dozens of by-catch strewn about and left to rot.
Not sure how a fishery can be sustainable with that approach.

Sad to hear. Was the by-catch mostly small Pike? Last time I was there you couldn't keep them off the hook. Lost many small $$ perch lures to them >:(

Yea i thinl they are doing more damage then anyone realizes , used to be good fishing and now not anymore ............sad they are allowed to set so many nets in a small area when there is a huge lake ?
