Chubking and I just got back from ice fishing!!! It was pretty slow. The first fish I caught was a bass about 16" that went back, then I caught a shad about 6", then some smaller gills. The best catch I had was a 14" walleye, first through the ice on the river for me, it went back also since it was an inch short of legal. I did catch 2 nice gills that went home with Johns gills.
We were on 2 foot of ice that was in great shape. The water was going down and the ice was cracking and popping and would settle every once in a while. For as cold as it was this morning it turned onto a nice day to sit on a bucket outside and fish for the middle of March. We're thinking about going again on Sat.
