Martin Marietta Quarry in Cedar Rapids
« on: Feb 04, 2009, 09:12 AM »
Does anyone know if you can fish the Martin Marietta quarry on the southeast side of Cedar Rapids? If so, any recommendations on where to go? What species of fish are in there? Any help would be great.

Martin Marietta Quarry in Cedar Rapids. We have one in Des Moines and it is private property and they will kick you off. But there are some great fish them. I've caught a three # walleye and 10# channel cat plus numerous other nice fish. just don't get caught ;)

Thanks for the info. I thought the city bought the property from Martin Marietta though. Maybe I will check with the local DNR.

Owned by the city of C.R. and you will be arrested for tresspass if caught on the property. Besides, I am told there is a tall fence all the way around it now. But, "he who dares, wins!!!!!!!!!!!!"
