Title: Salmon eggs for bait on jigs and spoons for brook trout ?
Post by: ougot1 on Jan 09, 2019, 09:44 AM
I use salmon eggs in late fall for trout and they work well , does anyone use them instead of waxies for brook trout , I was thinking of adding them to a single hook swedish pimple . I will try them next time on the ice until then any feedback appreciated  THANKS !

I know some people use them on set lines, but idk how well they’d stay on a jig. Only way to know is to try, just bring both baits. I tried some egg skein on set lines the other day for some stocked brookies, but got no action on them. I’ll keep trying, at least till I run out of this batch.

I use them for bows. But have to agree with seamonkey. I don’t think they will stay on a jig very well. But you maybe using a different brand than I do.
