24 this AM at Black Lake - puddles frozen (enough to walk on - tried out my new stabilicers - NICE) swamps skimmed over and the lakes and rivers steaming (giving up heat). It's great - we are getting closer!  ;D ;D

There is a skim on some small shallow ponds. I bet it will be gone tomorrow though.

Went for a ride Nov 1st and found some.  :)  Since then I haven't bothered.  The smaller lakes and ponds are ready though.  Should be next weekend if the forecast holds.

I told my dad I'd be on the ice by Dec. 15 this year. I don't know about that, but what I do know is I have two days of vacation I have to use up this year and if I get a deer the first two weeks of rifle season I'm holding on to those days so I can walk on water.  ;D

26* 6am. Next weeks forcast looks good, highs in the low 30's, lows in the lower 20's.

Yes it does - you just have to wait longer!  ;D ;D
My first ice is typically last week of December or first week of January.  I like it 6 - 8 inches thick (and safe) these days.  :)

it's a start, 30-20 degrees, I'm ready, well not really.
Still plenty of great open water fishing for those diehards before the ice nutz hit the water.  ;D
