Anyone find anything safe after today?
« on: Feb 04, 2023, 10:31 AM »
High hopes something small has safe ice today? Not looking for a spot from y'all just maybe a good sign and a general area? Carolina trout pond has about 1.5-2 inch ATM going to check a real small shallow place now

Small ponds and coves got almost 3 inches overnight just over the border. I was surprised! Chapman even locked up completely overnight

I poked around some of the small ponds in the N.W. corner this afternoon. Found 1.5-2" in most places. The bigger ponds barely have 1.5". Looks like another week of traveling north and west.

I checked out 2 ponds just over the border in CT this afternoon pondering making my first, and what looks to be the only, local outing this year.  Small 15 acre pond in PSF in Voluntown had enough to walk on.  Measured 2 1/2”.  I’m thinking it will be between 3-4” by morning.  Checked out boat launch off Anderson Pond in N Stonington which was 2”.  Couple kids went out skating just off launch.  Good luck and be safe tomorrow if venturing out.

Hoping to get my fix Friday into the weekend. Heard north central mass has some solid ice!? Can anyone recommend an area of mass I should try? Thank you  :

Think that wind didn't do us any favors on Friday.  Kept the waters moving too much before going solid
