Hit a lake a few times so far. 1st trip was a bust more of a scouting mission, but gave me a chance to see the ice progression. last 2 weekends I have hit a lake had 5 inches of ice. first trip was cold and windy. Got one wp on a jack trap, no activity on the fish finder. went again this past sunday. Set traps again didn't take long. Fish activity was good on screen but non committal. Traps won the show. Managed to ice 8 solid WP and 2 were released un harmed. final tally was 10 wp and one smb and one runt yp. had a great day.
