Is there ice in Westchester, NY? (Muscoot Reservoir)
« on: Dec 26, 2022, 12:12 PM »
Thinking of trying to drop by Muscoot Reservoir tomorrow with hopes that the shallows behind King lumber are frozen over (good panfishing there).

Ideally would like to avoid taking the train for an hour plus to see there's not safe ice - any folks in the area that can confirm? Thanks

I heard someone was out this AM on that northern most cove on Middle Branch. I don't know how he did or how much ice there was.

Usually White Pond a bit further up locks up first...any reports from that way?

Hopefully the warm up coming next week doesn’t thin out to bad all the ice made during this week’s cold snap.

Don't this its worth it at this point. I live pretty close and it hasn't been cold enough. Although I haven't checked yet.

Some guys were fishing other deeper reservoirs today. From my experience Muscoot coves  are the 1st to freeze for sure.
