Before you buy a steel foldup dog sled you should look into the effects of water and slush build up on frame and skis in freezing weather .Creating excess weight and a big problem. Poly is dry, light and will not build up ice and extra weight.

Woodchip, I had an old one where that wasn't too big of a problem. It was a homemade one and had to retire it. I have a Jet sled but really miss being able to haul another person on the back. Makes setting up and picking up traps a breeze. Plus the Jet sled fills up with snow quickly without the cover on...

Make sure you sled has a snow flap  and the bigger jet  sleds have stronger rails so a seat can be attached . also the  option of lengthens out the towbar.

I did my share of hanging on the back of an old dog sled... they are great but are whicked expensive.  I rock a six foot jet sled and a Stanley construction box, the ease of a jet sled and keeps every thing dry and a second person sits on the box headed out to the lake.

Have you looked at Automatic Distributors?

I'm just here to read what all the experts have to say.

I have one that I bought used and fixed up for cheap.  They're heavy, roughly 80 lb or so.  The base doesn't really hold a lot of stuff, it's only about 2 by 4 in size.  If you have a large pop up hub it won't fit.  I had to modify mine with a rack on top to be able to put my pop up on top of the rack.  you have to be sure to put some sort of piece of sheet metal or plastic on the hitch to keep the snow from piling up on top of the sled when you go.

I have one in great shape that I bought last year from Craigslist. It even has a brake light wired up to hook to your snowmobile. I still haven’t used it, but it was too good of a deal to pass up. No rust at all. I’d consider selling it for the $200 I paid if you’re interested.

Have you thought about building a Smitty sled for your jet sled? Gets it up off the snow when hauling and you could modify it a bit if needed for a passenger. Just need a pair of old downhill/cross country skis and some basic carpentry skills. :)
