This was there first time on the ice and what a great time it was. We started off the morning drilling holes and setting up tip ups and jaw jackers. This little fella learned all about how to do it and he set his some up with us.
As we waited for the flags to fly and the jackers to snap, we fired up the grill with some bacon, eggs, coffee and juice to hold everyone over til lunch time.
When the first flag went off The little guy took off like he was shot out of a cannon. The tip up reel was spinning and he was yelling don’t let him take all the line 😁. We talked him through the process of getting the tip up out and feeling for the fish and setting the hook. He was a pro and smiled even if he missed the fish. He landed some small pike throughout the day.
Toward the end of the day when the last flag popped up, he once again started battling a fish on the other end. After a hard fought battle a nice bass came up through the hard water. He was yelling omg I’ve never seen a bass and one that big. It was AWESOME. We can’t wait to get him out there again!
