Pfff. Don't hate one the market for adjusting to be more effective at SELLING.
Retail is dead, guys... Sure, you can go to a big store, like BPS or Cabela's, but they are not everywhere -they have to keep it down to a handful of retail locations, and if those mom n pop shops had the kind of volume they're running, they'd do the same.
that old model of "buy a handful of things and sell them at markup" is dying, thankfully. I remember paying top dollar for fly line back when there wasn't an internet. It was my only option! It sucked. Sure, they could order things for you, but generally, you're paying their lease and operating costs; not for the product you wanted in the first place.
I'm glad the model is changing. I can buy anything I want whenever I want it and pay less -because let's be serious here: a jig made in Latvia for $0.25USD doesn't HAVE to sell for $10.99.
Just gonna beat them up on fish anyway... and probably lose them.
