My son bought just the reel and I wanted to get him the matching rod for Christmas
Anyone know where to find just the matching rod?

I've had my eye on one of these all fall. Hoping to catch a deal around black Friday. Just sold a bunch of my older fishing gear to free up some new "toy" money

Got my pickle stick yesterday and that thing is sweet! The tip on this one is much much more thin then my old 27ul. Hopefully it holds up, I’m a little worried but we will see. Exchanged a Clam rod locker and had a coupon for $20 of $100 and picked up a Striker Transporter case to hopefully protect them all.

Here’s a shot of it if anyone’s interested.

Are you saying they thin the tip like very first tickle stick? I have first round of TS. My wife has year newer, and hers isn't no where near as sensitive (27ul's) because they fatten the tip to keep from breaking. I love the very first round ones, granted you have to be very nice to it!

I’m not sure exactly how thin the first ones were or when they first made them. My other tickle stick in the picture is from 3 years ago. It’s the version before they came out with the white ones and I thought that one was thin. This new one is probably half the thickness of that one.

Picture doesn’t do it justice but here’s the two side by side.

First round: .050 wide and .015 thick

Second round: .070 wide and .025 thick

Don't seem like much by numbers, huge difference!

I’ll have to borrow a set of calipers from work and check, now I’m curious. They appear to be pretty close in width.

Comes with reel too. If they made new ones just as sensitive as first ones, I'd buy another tickle stick 27ul in a heart beat! I like the pole alone that much.

Measured up the two tickle sticks today.

The old one measured .088 wide and .025 thick.

The radioactive pickle measured .085 wide and .012 thick.

So they are pretty much the same width but the pickle is quite a bit more thin.

Very interesting! I'll bring my calipers to cabelas (I just happen to be going right by there) tomorrow and measure(feel one up) up the tickle  stick 27ul. If they have one. Should the same as the pickle??

I’m not sure if it will be the same or not. I haven’t seen any in stores yet at all, but I also haven’t been to Cabelas in a while. Knutsons said it would be after gun season sometime before they had any of this years new gear.

Lol sure am! Yeah I called and talked to them and they said they had ice gear out, but it was all last years stock. Haven’t been there in person yet though. Probably going this weekend to pick up some spikes though.

OneMoreFish thank you for measuring your older Tickle Stick and new radioactive Pickle Tickle Stick. I hope we do not see reports of broken tips on the new Pickle like when the Tickle Stick first came on the market back in 2014 or 2015. The pickle should be a very sensitive rod with a tip of that thickness.

The original was awsome sensitive! That's why people broke them! Never broke with fish lol  only mishandled!
