Sonar with polarized sunglasses?
« on: Jul 30, 2018, 05:41 PM »
So here is my dilemma: I wear polarized sunglasses and not going to go away from them as they are needed for my eyes.  I am thinking I want to go with a helix 7 or lx7, but am I going to have issues seeing the screen with my glasses?  I have a lead on a flx 28 that has been used twice for $500, but want to rule out my preferred options prior to pulling the trigger.  I will be fishing in a house, but if it is nice I fish on the ice.

I wear polarized lenses all the time also.
I have used a Marcum & could see the screen just fine.
I use a FLX-28 now & have no issues seeing the screen.
I'm fairly certain you'll be good to go no matter what you end up buying.....Take care !!

the snow shield on the marcum digital and polarized glasses don't play well together. solution is remove the snow shield. you can install an anti-glare /screen protector onto the screen to protect it while the snow shield is off. just buy one for a lap top and cut to fit.

I just got a pair of uv/blue blocker type sunglasses and was completely surprised at how well I could see my Lowrance screen. I can even see my phone screen and gps in my car, lol! I miss the polarized glasses but I won't be using them any more. I just can't see anything with them on.

I've used my helix with polarized glasses on while outside and it was fine. I do it all the time in the summer too
