I know in NH some of our derbies donate the fish to a local animal shelter/zoo. They love the free protein for their raptors, and mountain lions. They also do not care if it’s old/frozen/cleaned/whole whatever.

Raptors? Zoos over there sound so much cooler.

Raptor : ie Bird of Prey

Just sounds cooler than saying a hawk, eagle, etc.

Good intentions in the first paragraph. Hope this works out. As for the second all I can say is I agree we are not the climate problem. The rest, I think you youtube too much.

The scary thing AND what still amazes me is the number of people on here who cannot spell probably correctly, its spelled "probably", not "prolly".  :P ;D

I am sure my local food shelf would love some Goldfish. They usually just prefer cash, so the same people who have been getting food there for 10+ years ago can keep coming 2x a week for some fresh steak. (not even making that up, was told last time we brought in 500+ pounds of canned goods that cash is better for them)

I wish more states would follow the new federal guide for the food stamp/medicaid distribution to able bodies and force able bodies to actual work.

Curious. What is going to cause the sun to "go to sleep for a while."? And when is this supposed ice age going to start?

Exactly ! It's actually called a Solar Calm . What I read on a Astronomy site says , it happens approximately every 50 years or so. The GREAT NEWS ? The example of it happening in the 17th century caused MORE freezing of rivers and lakes than normal ! It's said to take another 50 years or so to cycle back out . You know what that means guys ? Good winter ice until the day this old boy will be long gone ! ! ! That new Eskimo shelter was an EXCELLENT buy ! ! !

There is no denying that the earth's climate is changing.  And there is no doubt that since humans began burning fossil fuels on an industrial basis the rate of climate change has increased dramatically.  Those are scientifically verified facts, whether one chooses to believe them or not.

Maineiac is right in one respect.  Massive food shortages, (and water too, see Cape Town So Africa), are coming as a result of climate change.  More desertification, more drought more super storms bode ill for the human race.  Add to that the tens of millions of displaced persons that result from climate degradation and the future does indeed look problematic.

Technologies come to the fore, are used and then replaced by newer technology.  That holds true for fossil fuels too.  There are certainly technical problems to be overcome with renewable energy, but that is the case with all new technology.  The person who invents a commercially viable storage option for solar/wind power will make Bill Gates look like a church mouse.

While we may be amused by Mainiac's rant it does contain a grain of wisdom.  We better wise up quickly and get some forward looking leadership.  Otherwise, for our grandchildren, subsisting on "trash fish" will be the least of their worries.

Uh uncleshorty, What proof do you have the "climate" is changing?  Are you a scientist?  Are we going into politics here?  Global warming?

LOL.  I keep laughing at experts like Ted Danson and Al Gore that said we'd be under water by 1999.  Isn't anyone going to call them out for being wrong when people keep screaming this is gonna happen again?  PPPffft... I'm not buying.

I recycle, clean up after myself, tend to the environment........... ..........but....

Snow storm here, global warming in full effect. Next they are going to say that the government is using commercial airliners to control the weather

And remember in the late 70s (after all the blizzards) "scientists" said we were headed for a massive ice age!  LOL.  So which is it that is gonna kill us:  cold or heat?  Gee since this is settled, maybe we can finally get an answer!

Saw this bunch of contrails while out fishing this fall. Thought they looked a bit strange?  ??? Maybe that's why we are so cold here this winter and my mound froze this feb?  ;D
