It should lock up if the temps go down to what they're saying and this blasted wind ever dies out...we got blasted with 50 mph winds last night and it's down to 35 gusts right now...shorelines are gonna be sketchy all over and access is gonna be very limited...

Never tried it. They are free anyways and you can setup so you are not visible to anyone and you don't have to join any groups just view others posts. It's a personal preference, for sure. I know lots of folks that won't use FB and that's their choice.

Planning on a trip to Chaumont this weekend. Hope to finally catch my first eye up there. I also miss the Chaumont hardware reports but I refuse to promote fb or any other mass surveillance

Could be. They are usually good for giving weather and ice conditions. My brother in law is fishing up there tomorrow if he relays conditions I'll post them up

Once in a while I see a conditions report on Facebook and I am not nor will I ever be a Facebook guy. There reports are not the same as when they had a web page. I did notice how muc( colder it is up there.

Hi Guys,

Also my first trip to Chaumont is this weekend! I don't expect any GPS coordinates but it looks like there are a lot of good areas there to try. Would anyone be willing to email me to give advice on if the fishing is generally better on the drop-offs, in the open flats or in flats that are next to the drop-offs? I am just looking for a rough place to start Saturday morning. Am happy to catch perch but of course am excited about the thought of a few walleyes. 2 of us coming up from 5 hours away. We are fairly good with a jigging rod and will probably run a few tip-ups as well. Thanks very much in advance and tight lines!

as said on here many times , stop and get bait at chaumont hardware he'll (greg)will give you good advice and bait and tackle and sometimes even a topo map of the bay

I talked to a friend that said there was 4" of water on the ice where he fished today and they walked out leaving machines on shore. Colder temps the next few days and some snow should tighten things up and help ice access conditions. He said there was still around 12" of ice.
