I had to break almost an inch of ice with a rock this morning in my live well that I for got to drain. I had to use a wrecking bar to o pull the plug as it was froze in.

No damage to the live well but I had a dang cold arm from trying to get the drain plug out.

Good to hear Tom cause it could be expensive if it put a hole in the boat cause ice expands..

Side note grounds not frozen yet had to dig a deep hole this am.. cause we're having to put down a dog ..

Has been 23 here all day and is 15 now. I went to Cadillac this morning and went past a large lake that has a decent size bay by the road. The main part of the lake is open but the bay was froze all the way across with snow sitting on top of it. Beaver pond on the back of my land has been frozen for almost a week

16 in Livingston county skim ice on a lot of lakes this morning! Might be able to get out on a pond or canal by mon-tues
Funniest thing about ice fishing for me is when people who know nothing about ice activities try to warn me about the dangers of the ice...

Checking on the statewide webcams I am seeing ice as far south as Coldwater Lake. The lack of wind lately producing some thin ice.

Guess I'm gonna have to find me a small lake to fish. The three big lakes I fish just are not ready yet.
Tried ice fishing with Dynamite, UGH... where's my shanty?

I noticed big and better changes for Gogebic and improvement all around the state; this is killing me!
I like to sit around on the ice doing nothing because my wife won't let me do it at home.

1 degree here now. Most all the lakes are ice covered with some of the smaller ones fishable. There was someone on HL day before yesterday but the ice was layered in east bay. There is no snow on the ice and t is slick

It was -4 just east of Grayling this morning so it should have been making good ice all night. Moon was out bright last night with no snow. Will go out later to check Margrethe and see how it looks. Got a call from my fishing bud from Gaylord and he said Otsego Lk. is frozen all the way across.

I seen on the TV you had -6 Wednesday night the cold's spot in Michigan. Here at Otsego lake we had -5 and the lake frozen over at 1"to1"1/2 thick ay 60/70 feet out. Did not fish yet.
