Did they stock Alton bay with Tagged trout on tue

My buddy just called me all exited and he said his brother was at Alton bay on tue and they were putting the tagged trout in by the town docks, did anyone else see or hear about this ??  i didnt think they stocked this time of year.

I can't say for sure, but I have heard ( years back from Alan @ AJ's ) that they stock the fish in the fall so that they can spread out before the derby.  He said that years ago when they dumped them in Meredith (not long before the derby) that they didn't move too far and many fish were caught right there in the bay.  I wouldn't think they would stock them this close to the derby? But stranger things have happened?

Me and a buddy were there most of the day Tuesday facing in that direction and we never saw anyone stocking unless they did it before 11AM

Hmm i guess its time to play detective lol.  i heard they started doing this a few years ago because Mass does it this way.

Rainbows can travel quite a distance even in 1 day so they would spread out pretty quick

A friend of mine who used to work at a hatchery told me that stocking was always done at dusk, or dawn. I don't know why but someone must have thought this was best for the fish.
