This rod is making a pretty good reputation for itself in Montana.  I'll have one this year..........http://www.iceshanty.com/ice_fishing/index.php?topic=178204.0

How do those of us from out of state get a peak at one?

Let me ask you guys this.  What do you all use for reels?  I struggle to find a really good reel.  My St. Croix reel is ok but not the best.  I like quality reels.  Big pflueger fan but not sure how they hold up in the extreme cold(without having to change out the grease).  What do you guys like???

Any recommendations for a walleye rod with a little stiffer back for better hook sets? I used a 28" meat stick and had problems setting the hook.

Does anyone here use the Marmish rods? I would think they are pretty sensitive.
The spring bobber on the Marmish is fantastic. The whole rod, reel and spring bobber system is so light that it gives you great control of your presentation (think: quivering or vibrating the tail of a Ratso or Gulp Fry while keeping the jig in one spot). To me the Marmish system is a more of a specialized tool than an all around one. It's niche is finessing panfish in under 12 fow, and it does that better than anything else I've seen or used.

Did you pick that up somewhere in Waterloo/CF or did you order one? I would really like to get my hands on one.

I really like those fenwicks. For the price they seem like a good deal. We'll see after folks get to try them out though.
