Been hard at it, just haven't been posting.
Got the ceiling joists/trusses all finished up as well as the vent plumbing and fire sprinkler pluming all done in the attic. Still have some wiring and woodwork to do. Also have to finish the vaulted ceiling insulation before I can do the attic insulation.

Had time at lunch to screw 7 25-30 watt solar panels to the front of my deck.
Didn't have time to wire them up yet though.

Lookin' good Dave.  I hope you are feeling reasonably well.

What are the primary critters that want to get in, and what special measures have you taken to deter/prevent invasion?

Critters would be Wolverine and Bear and have done nothing yet.
Will have electric fence across the bottom of the stairs to keep em out.

Looking great Dave.

I have a solar powered fence around my garden, I went a little overkill on the energizer  ::), I got the American Farmworks 5 mile fence and I use poly-wire, available at Tractor Supply. Made to fence in cattle and horses.
Keeps everything out including my wife since she got zapped pretty good!
You will only get a small shock if you have shoes with rubber soles, I made the mistake of going barefoot once, the energizer packs a punch!

Thanks.  I had thought maybe rodents and birds.  Wolverines and bears are much more significant!

I agree!  Was thinking the same thing then it took on a whole different meaning of "critters".

OH, we have them too.  :roflmao:
Mice, voles, ermine, pine martin and others.
I have the ceiling in the basement covered with 3/8" OSB to hold the insulation in and limit rodent infestation. Need to trim it out as there are some cracks and holes they can get in. I used styrofoam SM and fiberglass in the floor because I got it for free. Only had to buy about $200 worth of insulation to finish it out. R40 in the floor. I used Rockwool everywhere but the flat ceiling as it is fire proof, rodent proof and holds it's insulation value if it gets wet.

Bears and wolverine will really mess up your place if they break in.

Place is looking good. I’d love to see a video of the place after  you have completed the cabin drifter.

Got one of my attic access panels done. Took a lot longer than expected but it fits perfectly. 18" of high density foam should stop any heat loss. Also put LED lighting in the attic for inspection and working. There's no room to get into to the attic without removing one of the walls to the access but it was built for inspection and access to the pipes that connect to the sprinklers if the galvanized pipe needs replacement at any point.

18" of foam in my calculation that would be a R90?  What is the R value requirement for ceilings there?

Correct it's R90.
Am putting 24" of cellulose which is about R80.
Not sure what code is, probably R50 but more insulation is always better where it can be -40 for weeks.
