I like the forage minnows, another spoon that works well for us is the smaller Pheobe's(for perch).

The best thing I've found for perch are small Swedish Pimples. They work with either grubs or a minnow on the treble hook.

I have done well with the Sweedish Pimple also.  My favorite is Lime Green with a maggot or white corn on the trebble hook.

White Swedish pimple or a 1/16oz. Northlands forage minnow should they be biting a bit light.

I use this same set up as well I prefer pearl/glow silver with spikes or minnow head.

Size 6 or 7 Swedish Pimple.  Silver Plate (not nickel).   Small single hooks of the size furnished with the smaller Pimples or hooks and chains from Halis.  Tip with strips of squid.

For perch it is a toss up between the nils master hali spoon in perch colour, or the hawger jig a whopper in White or chartreuse. In Sask we are allowed two holes for ice fishing so I set up with the hali in one hole and the hawger in the other. Here's proof that both work well.

Old fishermen never die, they just smell that way.

1st- forage minnow
2nd- 1/32 hornet jig
3rd- Custom jigs,  glow stinger and glow demon
I find perch quite finicky and actually, usually end up trying quite a few different lures but I would say the above have consistantly been the most succesfull. I have been trying some of the Fiskas line of small jigs the last couple of years and having pretty good success with them as well.

hands down its the forage minnow in glow red, but the only jig a guy needs is the cicada 1/16 oz that cicada is amazing how it swims, and with the double hook you dont miss,,, even the small ones are hooked , a game warden told me once that they should be outlawed ,he was counting up my fish  i had  40 keepers they work too well for ice fishing he mentioned as he walked away no tickets that day too bad for him he had a long walk back to shore ,,a little pricy but they will work when nothing else seems to , id like to find a fresh water shrimp fly or close resemblence to one ? any ideas ,what would you fly fisherman call it a grass shrimp pattern ?ive made some jigs out of cheap jewlery ,they often work ,near as well, but the cicada is my go to lure jig even in open water its simply the best panfish lure on the market today ,second to the forage minnow in red glow ,the rest are to catch fishermen ,i tip with spikes ,meal worms or minnow heads ,try one you will be supprized at the score come sundown ,
catches walleye ,perch, pickerel ,bass ,bullheads, blue gills, and any other fish that swims where you drop it in !!!!! :o ;D
